Pederson entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and went 1-for-2 with a solo home run in 5-3 loss to the Cubs. Pederson's ninth-inning blast closed the gap but was not enough for a Diamondbacks team that squandered opportunities with runners on base and made three errors. It was the second consecutive game with a home run for Pederson, who has hit safely in four of the last five contests. That stretch includes three of his four extra-base hits for the season. Pederson is slashing .333/.467/.576 over 46 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less

Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Sitting against lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs. As usual, the lefty-hitting Pederson finds himself out of the lineup with the opposition bringing a southpaw (Jordan Wicks) to the hill. With Pederson on the bench, Blaze Alexander will serve as Arizona's designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: On bench versus lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cardinals. The Diamondbacks are facing a left-handed starter Friday in Steven Matz, so Pederson will head to the bench. Blaze Alexander will serve as the designated hitter as Kevin Newman receives a start at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Sits against southpaw
Pederson is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies. The lefty-hitting Pederson will take a seat for the fourth time in five games while the Diamondbacks once again face off against a southpaw (Austin Gomber) in the series finale in Colorado. Pederson should serve as Arizona's primary designated hitter against right-handed starting pitchers, but he'll give way to Ketel Marte with Gomber on the bump.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Sits against southpaw
Pederson is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies. Pederson will miss out on a start at Coors Field since lefty Kyle Freeland is taking the mound Monday for Colorado. Blaze Alexander will serve as the designated hitter while Kevin Newman starts at shortstop.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Idle versus lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against Atlanta. Atlanta is bringing a left-handed starting pitcher (Chris Sale) to the mound for the second day in a row, so the lefty-hitting Pederson will remain on the bench for the series finale. Ketel Marte will replace Pederson in the lineup as Arizona's designated hitter.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Not starting against lefty
Pederson isn't in Arizona's lineup for Saturday's matchup against Atlanta. Randal Grichuk will fill in as the D-backs' DH and bat sixth.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Resting versus southpaw
Pederson isn't in the Diamondbacks' lineup for Saturday's game against the Rockies, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Perfect day at dish
Pederson went 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Friday's win over the Rockies. Making his Diamondbacks debut after taking a seat Opening Day against lefty Kyle Freeland, Pederson immediately made an impact. He ripped a double in the first inning followed by an RBI single in the third. Three of his four hits registered over 98 mph off the bat, including a pair over 100 mph. Arizona has the depth to sit Pederson against lefties often, but his ceiling against righties will keep him relevant in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Sitting against lefty
Pederson is out of the lineup Thursday's game against the Rockies. Southpaw Kyle Freeland will start Thursday's game on the mound for Colorado, sending the lefty-hitting Pederson into the dugout. Pederson started at designated hitter and went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's Cactus League game against the Cubs. Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Back in lineup Thursday
Pederson (personal) will start in left field and bat fifth in Thursday's Cactus League game against the Giants. Pederson was scratched from the lineup Tuesday against the Rangers after he left the team to attend to a personal matter, but he missed just a couple of days before returning to camp. Though he'll be drawing the start in left field Thursday, Pederson is expected to primarily serve as a designated hitter versus right-handed pitching once the regular season gets underway.... Pederson was scratched from the lineup for Tuesday's Cactus League game against the Rangers due to personal reasons and will be away from the team for a couple days, Alex Weiner of ArizonaSports.com reports. The specifics of the situation remain unclear, but Pederson isn't expected to be away for long. At this point, there's no reason to expect his availability to begin the season will be affected by the absence.... See More ... See Less -
Diamondbacks' Joc Pederson: Signs on with Arizona
Pederson signed a one-year, $9.5 million contract with the Diamondbacks on Thursday, which includes a mutual option for 2025, John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Phoenix reports. The 31-year-old fits Arizona's desire to add some thump in the designated hitter spot from the left side. Pederson slashed a pedestrian .235/.348/.416 with 15 home runs over 121 contests with the Giants in 2023, but he had a solid .786 OPS versus right-handers and boasts a career .834 OPS against righties.... Giants' Joc Pederson: Sits against Kershaw
Pederson will be on the bench against Clayton Kershaw and the Dodgers on Saturday, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
