  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Under contract for 2024

The Saints recently tendered Shaheed a one-year, $985,000 contract, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The decision to bring Shaheed back at less than $1 million for the upcoming season was a no-brainer for the Saints after the Weber State product proved to be a dependable deep-ball complement to No. 1 wideout Chris Olave in 2023. Shaheed appeared in 15 games this past season, accruing 46 catches for 719 yards and five touchdowns on 75 targets while also carrying seven times for 37 yards. The 25-year-old also was a dynamic weapon on special teams, bringing back 25 punts for 339 yards and a touchdown and 18 kickoffs for 384 yards.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sleeper WRs

Cooks comes into Week 17 against Detroit having scored a touchdown in four of his past five home games, and the one game where he failed to reach the end zone in Dallas over that span was Week 14 against Philadelphia where he was tackled at the 1-yard line on one of his two receptions. Cooks scored a rare road touchdown in Week 16 at Miami, and he'll need to score to help your Fantasy team. He has four catches or less in six games in a row and 45 yards or less in five of his past six outings. He also hasn't topped six targets in six-consecutive contests. The Lions are No. 7 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers, and seven receivers have scored at least 12.1 PPR points against Detroit in the past five games. Cook is worth using as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues in this matchup at home.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 18 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed was a letdown in Week 17 at Tampa Bay with just two catches for 14 yards on three targets, but I expect him to perform better at home against Atlanta in Week 18. He averages 12.5 PPR points indoors this season in nine games, and the Saints could struggle to run the ball this week with Alvin Kamara (ankle) hurt. I'll go back to Shaheed as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in the majority of leagues.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 17 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed is coming off a solid game in Week 16 at the Rams with five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown on nine targets. He should remain heavily involved in the passing game again in Week 17 at Tampa Bay in a great matchup, and the Buccaneers are No. 4 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. He only had three catches for 33 yards on seven targets against Tampa Bay in Week 4, but as long as Michael Thomas (knee) is out for the rematch then consider Shaheed a No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Scores TD in Week 16 loss

Shaheed secured five of nine targets for 70 yards and a touchdown and rushed once for four yards in the Saints' 30-22 loss to the Rams on Thursday night. The speedy second-year pro tied with Alvin Kamara for second in receptions on the night while serving as the runner-up in yardage as well. Shaheed hit pay dirt from 45 yards late in the first half, his first score since Week 8. His yardage total also was his best since that same contest, but it's worth noting the Weber State product recorded only 25 yards on his other four receptions outside of the touchdown. Shaheed next faces the Buccaneers' inconsistent defense in a Week 17 road matchup on New Year's Eve.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Week 16 Waiver Priority List

Shaheed flopped in Week 15 against the Giants with Chris Olave (ankle) out with only three catches for 36 yards on four targets. We'll see if Olave can return to action in Week 16 at the Rams, and I would use Shaheed as a No. 3 Fantasy receiver if Olave can't play. The Rams have allowed four receivers to score at least 18 PPR points in their past two games against Baltimore and Washington, and Shaheed should be more of a go-to option in this matchup for Derek Carr if Olave is out.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Three catches in return

Shaheed (thigh) caught three of four targets for 36 yards in Sunday's 24-6 win over the Giants. Shaheed returned from a two-game absence while Chris Olave (ankle) joined Michael Thomas (knee) on the sidelines. Shaheed's 36 receiving yards led all Saints wide receivers, but two of Derek Carr's three touchdown passes went to tight ends, and Keith Kirkwood scored the team's only touchdown by a wideout. After getting through the game without a setback to his injured thigh, Shaheed could see his role grow Thursday against the Rams, especially if Olave and Thomas remain unavailable.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Ready for Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) doesn't have a designation for Sunday's game versus the Giants, Brooke Kirchhofer of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed missed the last two games due to a thigh injury, and while he opened Week 15 prep with back-to-back capped sessions, he ended it with a full practice Friday, paving the way for his first appearance since Week 12. Fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) is questionable for Sunday after failing to practice all week, so if he's inhibited or sidelined this weekend, Shaheed would be poised for an elevated role in the Saints' passing attack.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Limited again, but plans to play

Shaheed (thigh) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com reports. After missing the Saints' last two games with a thigh contusion, Shaheed is seemingly taking a step toward a return to the lineup this Sunday against the Giants, as he's opened Week 15 prep with a pair of limited practices. Following Wednesday's session, Shaheed told Terrell that he intends to play Sunday, but he may need to put in a full practice Friday to approach the weekend without an injury designation. When healthy, Shaheed has operated as the Saints' primary deep threat this season, as he's produced six catches of 40-plus yards through 11 appearances.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Officially limited Wednesday

Shaheed (thigh) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. The on-field activity marks Shaheed's first since hurting his thigh Week 12 in Atlanta and missing both of the Saints' last two games. He'll have two more opportunities to ramp up his workload further before the team potentially gives him a designation for Sunday's contest against the Giants. Fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (ankle) didn't take part in drills Wednesday, so the overall situation at wide receiver in New Orleans will be watched as the week continues to get a sense of who might be available this weekend.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sitting out Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Panthers. Shaheed hasn't practiced since hurting his thigh Week 12 in Atlanta and now will miss a second straight game as a result of the injury. Meanwhile, the Saints' No. 1 wide receiver, Chris Olave, has been under the weather since Thursday but will be available to the offense Sunday, with A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood and Marquez Callaway also on hand to pick up the slack at the position.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not expected to play Week 14

Shaheed (thigh) is unlikely to play Sunday against the Panthers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Shaheed is officially listed as questionable, but he didn't practice in any capacity this week while he continues to tend to the thigh injury that knocked him out early in a Week 12 loss to Atlanta and caused him to miss last Sunday's loss to Detroit. Though he'll sit out a second straight contest Sunday, Shaheed will have a chance to return Week 15 versus the Giants, per Schefter. Meanwhile, top wideout Chris Olave (illness) is expected to suit up against Carolina, leaving A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood and Marquez Callaway as the available receivers behind him.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Questionable despite not practicing

Shaheed (thigh) didn't practice at all this week but is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Panthers, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Shaheed didn't practice or play last week and was ruled out on the Saints' final injury report. The questionable designation for Week 14 can be taken as a sign of progress, though Shaheed still seems more likely than not to be declared inactive ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff this Sunday. Another Shaheed absence this weekend would be especially problematic if Chris Olave (illness) -- also listed as questionable -- isn't able to play through a bout with the flu or is only a shadow of his usual self. A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden have been the main beneficiaries of added playing time at wide receiver with Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (knee) all struggling to stay healthy of late.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Spectator for Thursday's practice

Shaheed (thigh) wasn't on the field for Thursday's practice, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports. Shaheed hasn't practiced in any fashion since exiting the Saints' Week 12 loss to the Falcons with a thigh injury, putting him at risk of missing a second straight game Sunday against the Panthers if he's unable to get back on the field in some capacity Friday during the team's final Week 14 session. Elsewhere in the Saints' receiver room, top option Chris Olave was missing from practice Thursday, though his absence was due to an illness rather than an injury. Olave thus appears likely to be ready to play Sunday, while A.T. Perry and Lynn Bowden would presumably join him as regulars in three-wide sets if Shaheed isn't able to go against Carolina.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not playing Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Lions, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. During this past Sunday's loss in Atlanta, Shaheed left the game and wasn't able to return due to what was termed a thigh injury. It was reclassified as a quadriceps issue Monday, and he proceeded to miss all three practices during Week 13 prep and won't play this weekend. With one question mark out of the way, the Saints are waiting on Chris Olave (concussion) to gain clearance from an independent neurologist. Whether or not Olave is active Sunday remains to be seen, but A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood currently are the health wide receivers on New Orleans' active roster.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sits out practice Wednesday

Shaheed (thigh) was listed as a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Shaheed was injured during the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Falcons and never ended up returning, with Chris Olave (concussion) getting ruled out not long after. Olave at least managed a limited practice Wednesday, and while an earlier report indicated that Shaheed is day-to-day, there's still a decent chance the Saints enter Sunday's game against the Lions without Shaheed, Olave and Michael Thomas (knee). A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood were the team's top three receivers for the second half of the Week 12 loss to Atlanta.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Not seen at practice Wednesday

Shaheed (quadriceps) wasn't spotted at the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports. Meanwhile, fellow wide receiver Chris Olave (concussion) participated in individual drills. With Olave and Shaheed banged up and Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden and Keith Kirkwood are the healthy wide receivers on the Saints' active roster.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Unlikely to return Sunday

Shaheed (thigh) is considered doubtful to return to Sunday's game at Atlanta, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. With Michael Thomas (knee) on injured reserve, Chris Olave and Shaheed are the Saints' top two wide receivers, but both have made early departures from Week 12 action. The door at least has been left ajar for Shaheed to return, while Olave suffered a concussion and will be subject to the protocol for head injuries moving forward. If Shaheed remains on the sideline, he'll end Sunday with two catches (on five targets) and one punt return for six yards.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Iffy to return Sunday

Shaheed is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a thigh injury. Shaheed was targeted five times in the first two quarters and recorded two catches for nine yards, but he appeared to sustain the thigh injury early in the contest and had it flare up once he checked back into the game. According to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com, Shaheed threw his helmet on the ground in frustration shortly before he headed to the locker room late in the second quarter, so he could be at risk of being downgraded to out for the second half. If Shaheed is done for the day, it would be a major blow to a Saints receiving corps that recently lost Michael Thomas (knee) to injured reserve.

  • Saints' Rashid Shaheed: Sleeper WRs

As of Friday afternoon, we don't know who will be starting at quarterback for the Patriots in Week 12 at the Giants, but it shouldn't matter much for Douglas. Mac Jones or Bailey Zappe should lean on Douglas, and he's coming off a solid game in Week 10 against the Colts prior to New England's bye. Douglas had nine targets against Indianapolis for six catches and 84 yards, and he now has at least six targets in four games in a row. He's emerged as the No. 1 receiver for the Patriots, and this is a favorable matchup against the Giants, who are No. 5 in most Fantasy points allowed to opposing receivers. Consider Douglas a solid No. 3 Fantasy receiver in all leagues.
